ORE MUKHAM - MALAYALAM MOVIE REVIEW
After months of anticipated waiting, Dhyan Sreenivasan's college based suspense thriller Malayalam film ''Ore Mukham" which is directed by debutant Sajith Jaganathan was released on December 02, 2016 in Kerala and all over India. Apart from Dhyan, Aju Varghese, Prayaga Martin, Deepak, Arjun Nandakumar, Chemban Vinod, Renji Panicker, Maniyanpilla Raju, Abhirami, Jewel Mary, Gayathri Suresh and Sneha is there in important roles. This movie has an ensemble star cast
Sajith Jaganathan's movie is set in the backdrop of a campus in the 1980's.In this film, we can see Dhyan in the role of Zacharia, A spoilt rich kid, the college baddie, the serial womaniser, who will go to any extent to get what he wants.Dhyan has undergone a complete makeover, as this character is so rough and tough in nature. The actor has struggled while portraying the role of Zacharia, the man of mysteries.Dhyan has stepped outside from his comfort zone but the actor lacks the energy demanded by the character, and his struggle is clearly evident in his performance. Aju Vargheese is at his usual best. The actor has played his part perfectly, and impresses with his comic timing, once again. Prayaga Martin has nothing much to do in her role. But the actress has succeeded in making a mark with her screen presence.
Director Sajith Jaganathan's attempt to recreate the 80's on big screen is not an impressive one. The screenplay and dialogues are jointly written Deep S Nair and Sandeep Sadanandan but the duo has failed to impress as there is lot of clichéd and dramatic dialogues, even the screenplay lacks a grip. Satheesh Kurup scores with the decent cinematography, which makes a movie a good visual experience. Editor Ranjan Abraham did a neat work and Sameera Saneesh was on her usual best as she has done a wonderful job in recreating the colorful retro styles. National award winner, Bijibal's background scores are outstanding and songs are okay, which syncs with the mood of this film.
*POSITIVES*
1. Aju Vargheese in his usual best.
2. Costumes by Sameera Saneesh.
3. Satheesh Kurup's Cinematography.
4. Ranjan Abraham's crisp editing.
5. Bijibal's bgm.
*NEGATIVES*
1. Screenplay and dramatic dialogues.
2. Dhyan is not in his usual best.
3. Director failed to recreate 80's.
Ore Mukham is a campus-thriller movie which has lost its grip from a point. Don't hit theatres with lots of expectation. Overall it's a one time watchable movie.
Ore Mukham- 5/10

DEAR ZINDAGI- MOVIE REVIEW
In Dear Zindagi you can't see Shah Rukh Khan as a star or as the 'Badhshah of Bollywood'. Not a single time does Khan’s looming star status overpower the narrative. SRK let Alia have her moment through out this movie. It is in fact, Alia Bhatt’s film and not SRK’s. She handled her role very well, not faltering even for a second, making the flawed Kaira very much interesting. After Highway and Udta Punjab, this is one movie where you can find Alia as an actress rather than a baby doll. It is also heartening to see Shah Rukh Khan in a role which is so subtle and matured- a very different one from the roles that he has been doing in the past years. No frills, no songs, no unnecessary theatrics, in total no typical 'BOLLYWOOD' stuffs.Just pure acting. In fact I love to watch SRK more in these kinda roles rather than those Dilwale or Chennai Express type movies.
Amit Trivedi’s breezy music beautifully blends with the film’s story making it an extension of the narrative itself.
*POSITIVES*
1) Dear Zindagi is just another movie that showcases the powerful potential of Alia Bhatt. If you were awed by her performance in Highway and Udta Punjab, be prepared to be blown away by her sheer anguish here. You can’t help but not take eyes off her, when she really gets into a scene, especially the ones that show her outbursts.
2)Shah Rukh Khan's screen presence. He's in his charming best and it's just about pure acting in Dear Zindagi. Finally a good movie from SRK in this year.
3) Songs of Amit Trivedi gel well with the narrative.
4) Gauri Shinde's slice-of-life film and her execution.
*NEGATIVE*
1) Editing could have been better. At two and a half hours, the movie is tad too long and it allows monotony to set in.
*VERDICT*
Overall Gauri Shinde's Dear Zindagi is simple yet have a poignant story, she gives us a film that stays with us for a long time and we can easily connect this movie to ourselves. There are moments which aren’t coherent, youth's insecurities may or may not make sense all the time but then not all things in life always make sense or are streamlined. You just learn to deal with them. There are some philosophical and good dialogues in this movie like “Ek kursi choose karne se pehle we try so many chairs, to ek life partner kaise easily choose kar le,” and “Don’t let the past blackmail your present to ruin a beautiful future”.
DEAR ZINDAGI- 8.5/10

Number 1 side
That's that! India whitewash the Blackcaps, winning the 3rd Test by 321 runs to clinch the series 3-0. India didn't need the extra half an hour, 9 wickets in the session. NZ bowled out in 45 overs, total domination! Before the start if this series itself it was pretty sure that India is going to win this series considering the home advantages but never expect to win in this manner. They crushed NZ. Ashwin finishes with match figures of 13/140. He'll be an all-time great if he can replicate home performances on unhelpful pitches. Ashwin you beauty 👌😍

Pulimurugan- Movie Review
Pulimurugan Review.
Atlast the wait is over for the malayalam movie lovers as the most awaited movie in Mollywood Pulimurugan released today. The screenplay of this big budget movie has been penned down by popular writer Udaya Krishna and this one happens to be his first independent screenplay. Tomichan Mulakupadam had produced the movie under his banner named Mulakupadam Films.
Vysakh gave us a gem of an entertainer named Pulimurugan. He had shown the courage to choose a unique subject and made a convincing movie out of it. He not only just made it a good movie but also made it a visual spectacle for the audience. The way he narrated the plot, introduced each characters, controlled the pace of the narration, presented each and every situations in the story gives us an idea about the homework he had done before this movie and all his effort had got great result to say the least.
Udaya Krishna had wrote a very good screenplay. It has mass elements but at the same time he done a great job by making some down to earth characters to move the plot in the right direction. He had made the situation look convincing and that made the job of Vysakh a bit easy while he was giving a visual language to the plot.
Lalettan once again sizzled on screen with another fantabulous performance. He is such a pleasure to watch on screen and the effort he took to make this character perfect was evident from the stunning performance of him, specially in the action sequences. He has been terrific and there is a shortage of words to describe this man’s phenomenal performance as Pulimurugan.
Apart from him, Lal had given a superb performance in the movie along with other.Peter Hein, the one who choreographed the fight sequences in the movie has been awesome as the stunt scenes he created for Mohanlal was stunning. The climax fight was unbelievably superb.
Shaji’s camera work has been good. His frames provided the beauty and ferocity of nature and it served as the soul of this movie. Gopi Sundar’s music was very good and the songs were terrific. Editing was done by Johny Kutty and he did a great job.
Verdict-
Pulimurugan is a pakka mass masala entertainer, I won't say that it's strictly for fans as we all Keralites are fans of our own Lalettan.
Pulimurugan- 3.5/5
മുരുകൻ വേട്ട തുടങ്ങി. ❤😍👌
Thoppil Joppan- Movie Review
Thoppil Joppan-
After a long gap, we get to see Mammootty in an out-and-out comedy avatar in this simple light hearted comedy entertainer Thoppil Joppan. The movie featuring Mammootty, Mamta Mohandas and Andrea in the lead roles Directed by Johny Antony, the movie is produced by Noushad Alathur, under the banner Grande Productions. Scripted by Nishad Koya, the movie has music by Vidhya Sagar.
Cracking memorable one-liners in the much popular achayan accent comes naturally to Mammooka. Joppan is a very interesting character, which has a genuine humour touch and needless to say Mammootty has pulled off the role effortlessly. Unlike usual Superstar movies, in Thoppil Joppan both the female leads have important roles. While Andrea delivered a matured performance as Joppan ex-lover , Mamta’s character who is a college student, is filled with youthfulness. Apart from the three lead roles, Salim Kumar is the show stealer. The actor has made a strong comeback with this humour filled character. Supporting cast have done their parts well.
Despite being a humorous love track, the director has maintained the humour in a subtle way with no vulgarity. It is the kind of film you can watch with your entire family. The movie is highly entertaining. Cinematography by Sunoj Velayudham and cuts by Ranjan Abraham are impressive. The beauty of Idduki is very well captured in the movie. Songs composed by Vidhya Sagar needs a special mention as it had very well complimented the beauty of the story. On the whole, Thoppil Joppan has a blend of comedy, love and sentiments in the right proportions.
Final Verdict-
Don't hit theatres with great expectations and don't expect a pakka mass movie, it's a simple story which is neatly executed into a clean family entertainer. The entire movie is carried out by Mammooka and he did that with ease.
Thoppil Joppan- 3.5/5

The Captain Cool
Watched MS DHONI: The Untold Story - what a man !! what a journey !!! Inspirational!! Sushant Singh Rajput has given his soul to this role and it shows. He’s mastered the helicopter shot, his mannerisms and body language are spot on.Neeraj Pandey, who is known to not play safe, sadly paid more attention to Dhoni’s love life, instead of the very interesting ‘politics’ in the dressing room or the various and controversial selections that took place during his reign. Thankfully, they have shown a young Yuvraj Singh, played by Herry Tangri, who looks remarkably similar to Yuvraj.Neeraj Pandey has done a good job in fleshing out a character like Dhoni, especially his frustrations as a ticket collector, and his incredible journey to become the Captain Cool of the Indian cricket team. For the first time, a cricketer's star power be driving the film on Day 1. The credit for MS Dhoni's opening will go to the man himself.I promise you that you'll step down from theatre as a Sushant Singh Rajput fan.For cricket lovers Dhoni is more than a player and a emotion 😍

India is my country!
It hardly matters if you're a Kannadiga or a Tamilian. The moment you chose violence you're an Indian whose patriotism is questionable. Neither TN Govt nor Karnataka govt worried about farmers. They are just working hard for their vote banks.Let's hope the unity built between the people of both states during Chennai floods stays strong during these testing times. Remember our pledge "All Indians are my brothers and sisters " Believe in judiciary.Stop violence!
Sorry Amitji
Dear Amit Shah, Malayalis celebrating Vaamana Jayanti would be like Chileans celebrating US independence day for destroying democracy in Chile.Your attempt to divide Kerala on religious lines would not be allowed or your divide and rule policy won't work here. Stay away because in your 'Vaamana Jayanti' too rice in Kerala might boil and serve with beef .This is God's own country, not Godse's own country so no more kuthithirupps because here no hairs will walk .
