ORE MUKHAM - MALAYALAM MOVIE REVIEW

After months of anticipated waiting, Dhyan Sreenivasan's college based suspense thriller Malayalam film ''Ore Mukham" which is directed by debutant Sajith Jaganathan was released on December 02, 2016 in Kerala and all over India. Apart from Dhyan, Aju Varghese, Prayaga Martin, Deepak, Arjun Nandakumar, Chemban Vinod, Renji Panicker, Maniyanpilla Raju, Abhirami, Jewel Mary, Gayathri Suresh and Sneha is there in important roles. This movie has an ensemble star cast

Sajith Jaganathan's movie is set in the backdrop of a campus in the 1980's.In this film, we can see Dhyan in the role of Zacharia, A spoilt rich kid, the college baddie, the serial womaniser, who will go to any extent to get what he wants.Dhyan has undergone a complete makeover, as this character is so rough and tough in nature. The actor has struggled while portraying the role of Zacharia, the man of mysteries.Dhyan has stepped outside from his comfort zone but the actor lacks the energy demanded by the character, and his struggle is clearly evident in his performance. Aju Vargheese  is at his usual best. The actor has played his part perfectly, and impresses with his comic timing, once again. Prayaga Martin has nothing much to do in her role. But the actress has succeeded in making a mark with her screen presence.

Director Sajith Jaganathan's attempt to recreate the 80's on big screen is not an impressive one. The screenplay and dialogues are jointly written Deep S Nair and Sandeep Sadanandan but the duo has failed to impress as there is lot of clichéd and dramatic dialogues, even the screenplay lacks a grip. Satheesh Kurup scores with the decent cinematography, which makes a movie a good visual experience. Editor Ranjan Abraham did a neat work and Sameera Saneesh was on her usual best as she has done a wonderful job in recreating the colorful  retro styles. National award winner, Bijibal's background scores are outstanding and songs are okay, which syncs with the mood of this film.

*POSITIVES*
1. Aju Vargheese in his usual best.
2. Costumes by Sameera Saneesh.
3. Satheesh Kurup's Cinematography.
4. Ranjan Abraham's crisp editing.
5. Bijibal's bgm.

*NEGATIVES*
1. Screenplay and dramatic dialogues.
2. Dhyan is not in his usual best.
3. Director failed to recreate 80's.

Ore Mukham is a campus-thriller movie which has lost its grip from a point. Don't hit theatres with lots of expectation. Overall it's a one time watchable movie.

Ore Mukham- 5/10
